IGN’s Seth Macy is exploring everything that PAX West 2025 has to offer, like awesome collectibles, first looks at the hottest upcoming games, and of course, exciting glimpses at new hardware. Seth is checking out some of the biggest names in PC and PC accessories like Lenovo Legion, Razer, Arcanium, and MSI… But Framework might just be the dark horse we needed to make PC building fun again.

At PAX West 2025, several companies unveiled new gaming hardware and accessories. Framework introduced its 16-inch modular laptop, allowing users to easily swap and upgrade components such as ports and graphics cards, including a special NVIDIA option. MSI showcased its MLG edition desktop and the CLAW 8 AI Plus Polar Tempest handheld, both featuring high-end specifications and customizable options. Razer displayed its newly released Gengar headset, previously only available in China, alongside other themed accessories. Arcanium Inc. debuted a modular storage table designed for gamers to organize and charge peripherals, with a pre-sale and upcoming Kickstarter campaign. Lenovo presented its Legion 7i gaming laptop and Legion Pro OLED monitor, both emphasizing performance and design for gaming enthusiasts.

The event highlighted the growing trend toward modularity, customization, and high performance in gaming technology. Attendees had the opportunity to experience these products firsthand and learn about upcoming releases and purchasing options.

This modular laptop could change the game

Hey, Seth here at PAX West 2025, look, we can all agree PCs are awesome and there are tons of PCs here at PAX West, but which one is the best? The only way to find out is to check them all out. Come on, let's go. Presented by the Army National Guard. Forever, if you wanted a desktop PC, you could kind of do whatever you wanted with it. But if you wanted a laptop, you were sort of limited to like what they would do at the factory or whatever before you bought it. But this is the framework 16 right here. This is their 16 inch laptop and it's modular. You can do what you want to. You can add parts, pieces, swap them out, upgrade, do what you want to a laptop like this is it all taken apart. I mean, it looks like a taken apart laptop and check this out. This is when it's all put together, like look at how clean that is. You would not know that there's anything really out of the ordinary. You'd think like, oh, there's some cool design choices here, but no, it's like everything's modular. It's freaking sweet. They got expansion cards right here. So ports are a never ending struggle with me, but that's not a problem anymore. You can just pop them right out. Look, look at that. Go throw another one in. This one looks like it. Yeah, this is USB. You could put like an SD in there. This looks like a display port. You could put like Ethernet. They have a special NVIDIA graphics card designed for this modular system. Look at that. Oh, that doesn't look like that's a 5070 NVIDIA graphics card right there. It's one of the options you can just throw in there. And I love that because maybe you can't get the 5070. Maybe you get something like smaller or maybe you have this and you want to get something bigger. You can just pop it out, pop this one in on a laptop, which is unbelievable. I love everything about this. I kind of want to take it home one piece at a time and hope that they don't notice and then I'll just have a sweet computer when I get home. So yeah, absolutely. Check out Framework when you're on the floor here at PAX West. All right, I'm at the MSI booth here with Cliff. Cliff, tell me a little bit about what this awesome PC is behind me that we're looking at. So this is our brand new, just launched MLG edition desktop. It's got a full HD screen running at 120 Hertz, 100% sRGB touchscreen, 500 nits brightness. All the stuff that you display heads out there want, 32 gigabytes of DDR5 RAM running at 8,533 megahertz. That is craziness. Two terabyte NVMe SSD. It's got Intel Art Graphics. Man, this thing will give you about two and a half hours of triple A gaming on a single battery. It is really, really nice. We are here at the Razer booth at PAX West. Now, Razer, as you know, makes peripherals. They make pretty amazing laptops, but the hottest thing going right now is this right here. You got Intel Core Ultra 9 inside of there, running all the processes. You got a terabyte SSD, 32 gigabytes of RAM, which is the perfect amount of RAM as far as I'm concerned. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 crammed inside of this gorgeous little machine. Beautiful RGB backlit keyboard. It just looks good. It feels good. The screen is bright and vibrant and wonderful. Yeah, this is a gaming laptop powerhouse. All right, check out this monitor. This is the Legion Pro 34WD-10 OLED display, absolutely freaking gorgeous. It's got headphone hook.
