A prolonged period of rain and snow in the Pacific Northwest is drawing to a close, with lingering precipitation expected through Friday morning. Snow levels, which began the week at approximately 8,000 feet, are dropping to around 3,500 feet, resulting in snowfall in higher mountain passes and rain at lower elevations.

By the weekend, weather models indicate that the remaining storm system will weaken and shift into Canada, allowing a ridge of high pressure to build and bring warmer, sunnier conditions to the region. Cities such as Seattle and Portland will see a reduction in rainfall, while areas like Phoenix will continue to experience warm temperatures.

when we take a look at the satellite loop here, the cloud cover, we're gonna continue to see the moisture stream in through the night. But if we look far enough out there, you could see that cellular type of cloud pattern with a little bit more blue on the map where we're not seeing many deep, tall clouds. The beginning of the end of this is underway. So tonight into early tomorrow morning, really through Friday morning, we got rain. Snow levels are coming down. In other words, this is gonna be the colder part of our storm system on really the coldest part of the week here. But still, snow levels have started so high up around 8000 ft. Now we're dropping back down. You can see it's brighter again in Truckee, California, after what was an active time earlier around midweek. But Friday, lingering showers and sprinkles here and there into Seattle, some snow into the bitter roots and the T Towns will see some pretty good snow. But we're gonna begin to dry out there in southern parts of Oregon. So we are in the midst of still a 1 to 2 inch rain event in Seattle. Eureka started the week here with 2 to 4 inches of rain. And then this late week event, mainly aimed farther north, still adding 1 to 2 inches there to the rain gauges in Eureka. And I mentioned that the snow level started way up at 8000 ft. They're coming down to around maybe 3500 ft at the end of this storm system. So that keeps no quality pass at around 3000 ft on the wet side rain there. But Stevens pass and white passes could see 1 to 3 inches of snow. And look at that wave action there. You can see some some of the harbors there in Washington state where there's been an onshore breeze and maybe the water is a little up from where it typically would be amid even higher tides. But future radar and satellite again, we're gonna say goodbye to this round of rain and you'll notice the weekend storm initially kind of looks like it's coming at us. It really runs out of gas and diverts primarily up into Canadian real estate as the Ridge builds. Look at this. The sun will be shining and we're gonna see a nice rebound. So Friday rain in Missoula showers and Billings Boise. Some showers Portland leftover showers healing Nevada 59 86 in phoenix looking great there. But saturday and sunday we warm up. It's gonna get nice out there.
