CCT Connect customers are feeling the impact of the SEPTA service cuts.

Meanwhile, there's another group of riders being impacted by the cuts, those with disabilities. So far, there's no update from Pennsylvania state officials as far as where things stand. But Greg, you went to see how those riders are managing with the changes, and it's not good. Yeah, no, it's not good, and it's something that we've heard over and over in regards to commuters is the long wait times, but we've been talking about it over and over, whether it is your day-to-day commuters, your students, but now this time it's those that are a part of the SEPTA CCT transit. In the middle of the Philadelphia hustle and bustle is SEPTA. Four days into the agency's cuts, every form of transportation is facing changes. It's really screwed up with SEPTA. SEPTA's screwed up. Arlene Paul is one of many commuters who utilize SEPTA's CCT Connect service, a line that provides transportation for individuals with disabilities and senior citizens. Paul uses it to get to the South Philadelphia Older Adult Center. Just play bingo and come to the TV, to the dinners. But since the SEPTA cuts began Sunday, CCT riders have been impacted. What have you been seeing? It's so slow. A complaint echoed by others, including Maria Sciocco, who uses it to get to work. Last two days, they picked me up about 15 minutes late, which isn't too horrible. And of course, they've had to make a lot more pickups, which means I got here a little later. But I kind of expected that. Not just them, but it's all the traffic on the road, too, because of the SEPTA cuts. So it's not really the driver's fault. They're not always reliable. They don't always come on time. And that's OK. Fortunately, with the way the paratransit works, we haven't had that overcrowding situation. I mean, we do have, you know, it's a strict capacity on these vehicles, and we follow that. You know, I think there have been some minor delays. Andrew Bush, the spokesperson for SEPTA, says there are nearly 4,000 CCT Connect customers a day. Part of the requirements for the service is living at least three-quarters of a mile to a bus route. With the elimination of several routes because of the SEPTA cuts, they've had to make adjustments. If somebody lives along the Route 31 that was just eliminated, most likely they're going to be within that three-quarters of a mile of another bus route. So their eligibility is going to continue. It's just, you know, been some coordination with us and with them to make sure that they get a continuation of service. Yeah, well, SEPTA officials say one other concern they have with the CCT line is that they feel as though there might be a situation where those that may have had their lines eliminated will then apply for the CCT transit, and that will only result in a lot more people using the line and it being impacted even more in potential longer waits.
