Senator Ted Cruz, along with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and other officials, has introduced the ROTOR Act, a new aviation safety bill prompted by a deadly collision between an army helicopter and an American Airlines jet in Washington, D.C. The bill mandates that all aircraft, including military helicopters, be equipped with and use advanced tracking technology (ADSB) when operating near commercial air traffic. 

The legislation also calls for an audit of the army's role in the incident and aims to close safety loopholes identified after the crash, which was the deadliest U.S. aviation accident in over two decades. The bill has received support from victims' families and members of Congress, who emphasize the need for bipartisan cooperation to enhance aviation safety. A three-day investigative hearing involving officials from the FAA, the army, and the airline is set to provide further details on the crash and discuss measures to prevent similar incidents.

That's what's really essential here This has been something the members of Congress and the families of some of the victims have really been pushing hard for take a listen We're especially encouraged by the stronger in a DSB requirements of the bill As well as the requirement for an army inspector general to conduct an audit into the army's role in our accident These measures are essential steps towards ensuring that the failures which led to this tragedy are never repeated While we know this bill represents an important starting point.
