According to Ukraine's air force, dozens of missiles and drones were fired at civilian and residential areas. An educational institution in Sumy suffered significant damage, and nearby residential buildings were also affected. Additional attacks in the settlements of Mirapilya and Krasnopilya resulted in multiple injuries.

In response, Ukraine reported a successful strike on a Russian ship in the Black Sea, which is part of the Kremlin's fleet. The Ukrainian-produced drone reportedly damaged the ship's navigation and communication systems while it was conducting intelligence and patrol missions.

Russia targets Sumy and Donbas in Ukraine

Russian attacks continued overnight into Thursday, targeting various positions across several cities and regions. Ukraine's air force says the Kremlin fired a barrage of dozens of missiles and drones targeting civilian sites and residential areas. An attack on an educational institution in the northern Sumy region damaged the main building as well as several workshops and vehicles. A shockwave from the blast caused windows to blow out in at least three nearby residential buildings. Elsewhere in Sumy, an attack on the Mirapilya settlement injured several people after Russian rockets struck the area. A separate attack in the nearby settlement of Krasnopilya also injured at least one person. Meanwhile, Ukraine says it has successfully attacked a Russian ship in the Black Sea. The ship, valued at 51 million euros, is part of the Kremlin's infamous Black Sea fleet of warships and aircraft carriers. Officials say a Ukrainian-produced drone struck and damaged the ship's navigation and communication systems. Ukraine's intelligence service says the ship was carrying out intelligence and patrolling missions at the time of the strike.
