I want to reiterate my immense respect for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova for the way they approached these parliamentary elections, in the condition that there was pressure on multiple levels from the Russian Federation. We hear less, but the West is preparing to start a war with Russia and that people will go to war. I saw this very, very intense in Moldova and people judged rationally for their future, so it is absolutely commendable. After the electoral success of the pro-EU bloc in Moldova, the Romanian President thinks that the Moldovan government has the political opportunity to speed up the negotiation process to join the Union. Now in the process of joining, there is a common calendar for Moldova and Ukraine. We know that there is opposition from Hungary to Ukraine. What will happen is that regardless of the formal calendar of negotiations in Moldova, technical discussions on the negotiating chapters will take place, even if they will not be officially launched. I hope they will be launched, but if they will not take place, so that from a structural administrative point of view, Moldova will be prepared as soon as possible to join. So I am very, very optimistic that Moldova will join the EU. Nika Shordan is also aware of the structural obstacles concerning a fast Ukrainian accession to the EU. I am an optimist for Ukraine. At the moment, there are two problems. There is the Hungarian opposition and there is a discussion about agriculture. At the moment, it does not have the standards that we impose on agriculture in the EU. The discussions that take place are about Ukraine having a separate status on agriculture, so that it can continue to make significant exports in non-European countries and to be aggregated on all other chapters.
