A head-on collision between two luxury vehicles in Rose Bay has resulted in charges against a 23-year-old woman. The incident left one driver trapped and caused damage to both cars.

A head-on collision occurred between a Rolls-Royce and a Mercedes in Rose Bay, Sydney, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles. Security footage captured the aftermath, showing the Rolls-Royce driver exiting her vehicle and attempting to access the other car, while the Mercedes driver remained trapped inside.

The 52-year-old Mercedes driver, a local limousine company owner, was eventually freed by emergency crews. The 23-year-old Rolls-Royce driver returned a positive breath test at the scene and allegedly refused a second test at the police station. She has been charged and is set to appear in court. Locals noted that the road is known for frequent accidents, with another crash occurring at the same spot just days earlier.

It was so bad that his passenger seats were flying all over the road. All the cars dismantled, wrecked. The crash happened at 3.30 this morning in Rose Bay in Sydney's eastern suburbs. I've never seen anything like it. The engine was just gone. There was debris everywhere. It was unbelievable. Shocking. The 52-year-old driver of the Mercedes is a well-known local who owns a limousine company. He'd recently bought the van. He was working, working out, saving himself, ready to get, getting ready to retire. He was pinned inside his car for some time before emergency crews were able to free him. The driver of the Rolls-Royce, a 23-year-old woman, was breath tested at the scene and returned a positive reading. Officers say she allegedly refused a second breath test at the police station. She's been charged and will face court next month. It could have been a small family, toddler in the back, head-on with that impact and that car's a very heavy car. It could have been fatal. Witnesses say the impact from the crash was so intense it set off security alarms at local businesses on this busy strip, with the clean-up taking almost five hours this morning. Locals say the road is notorious for crashes. Two days ago, exactly at the same spot, we had another accident. The lanes, they seem to be smaller. There's no room for error.
