A 10-year-old boy in Borough Park, Brooklyn, was robbed of his play money by a stranger along 42nd Street on Christmas. The suspect forcibly grabbed the child and took the fake money before fleeing the scene. 

Police have released a photo of the suspect, described as wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants, and a black hat. Authorities have not confirmed the type of play money stolen and are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact them.

Yes, Marissa, it seems like even our fake money isn't safe these days, but what really gets me about this particular situation is that the victim was a 10 year old boy and he was just walking here along 42nd Street when a stranger came up to him and stole the money. Police sharing this picture of the thief with us. They say he was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants, and black hat. According to officials, it all went down just before 530 Christmas night. That's when the boy says he was forcibly grabbed by the man who then took the money and ran off. At this time, police can't confirm for us what type of fake money was stolen. As we know, Monopoly money is colorful and clearly not real, but play money looks a lot more realistic and could be confused for actual cash. I mean, it doesn't matter what kind of money it is, to be honest, because if you're getting robbed, you're getting robbed. Nobody knew that it was fake money until they took it off the kids hands.
