Experts attribute Reform UK's rise to widespread dissatisfaction with both Labour and Conservative governments. Despite holding only four seats in Parliament, the party is gaining momentum, but analysts note that its policies will likely face increased scrutiny during a general election.

A party on the fringes not long ago. But now, Nigel Farage's Reform UK is making waves in Britain's political landscape. After huge gains in the spring local elections, they're riding high in the polls, overtaking the ruling Labour party. The issue they're best known for? Immigration. Calling for mass deportations of people crossing the English Channel in small boats. Unless we start deporting people, I predicted this would turn into, and yes I use the word, invasion. But 180,000 people later, what other word could possibly describe what has been going on? It is an invasion. Hardline language that resonates with some voters, with immigration cited as a top concern in recent polls. And language that has also been blamed for fuelling anti-asylum protests across England, with Reform denying it encouraged disorder. Its media-savvy founder, Nigel Farage, has in the past successfully campaigned for the UK to leave the EU. And Reform now pledges to leave the European Convention on Human Rights, cut taxes and scrap funding for green initiatives. But some experts say the party's rise is down to dissatisfaction with the current Labour and previous Conservative governments. Nigel Farage's party, Reform UK, is very much one of a number of populist radical right parties that have seen their support increase in Europe over the last few years, primarily due to concerns about immigration. What they are able to do is to address very popular grievances and therefore appeal to a certain section of the electorate. I think when it comes to a general election, though, those policies will come under greater scrutiny. Reform UK has only four seats in the UK Parliament, but it does have momentum and it hopes that that momentum can help propel it from being a party of protest to being a serious contender to run the UK government. Nigel Farage has close ties to the US President Donald Trump, which his supporters say lends him authority.
