The month of July has been a soggy one for much of the Southeast, and we might squeeze out a little more rain before the month is over. Rain and storms are expected to impact the region as a cold front sinks southward mid-to-late week.

The US Southeast has experienced a notably wet July, particularly along the Gulf Coast, with some regions receiving over a foot of rain. This rainfall has helped alleviate drought conditions in Florida, as the rainy season intensifies across the area.

Forecasts indicate that an additional one to two inches of rain is expected from Atlanta to Montgomery, New Orleans, and through the Carolinas. The wet weather is not expected to arrive immediately, but as a cold front meets humid conditions, stronger thunderstorms could develop, especially across the Tennessee Valley.

Wrapping up this month of July and boy, it has been a soggy one, especially here in the South along the Gulf Coast. Helping with our drought conditions in Florida, that's for sure, with the rainy season really kicking in big time. The orange on this map represents where we've seen at least around eight, nine, 10 inches of rain, but in some areas, seeing well over a foot of rainfall. So the ground, already soggy in many cases, and this is what's still to come. One to two inches of rain from Atlanta to Montgomery, down toward New Orleans, all the way through the Carolinas as well. And this is a forecast that goes through next Sunday. So some of you are gonna have to wait for it. This is not immediate rain that we will see in the next couple of days. In fact, this is the setup for Tuesday, lots of moisture in place. So we've got plenty of humidity. We will have a cold front that eventually drops down and meets up with that humidity. So there could be some stronger thunderstorms erupting across the Tennessee Valley.
