A sequence of weather systems has moved through California, Oregon, and Washington, bringing significant rain and mountain snow. In California, heavy rainfall since October has led to the absence of a fire season, with Los Angeles recording unusually high precipitation.

The ongoing wet conditions have resulted in road closures, such as at I-80 and Donner Pass, and have benefited ski resorts across the region. Additional disturbances are expected, though California may experience a brief break from the rain in the coming days.

We had the system move in last Friday to Southern California last Thursday, and then we went from Northern California to Southern California, Northern California to Southern California all weekend. We even had snow enough to close I-80 and Donner Pass. So these are the surpluses. Look at Los Angeles. This is the rainy season October for 551, which is just absolutely crazy. And there's literally been no fire season since October there because they got that huge rain system in October, and it really hasn't stopped since. Oregon and Washington, more of the same. Today, we watch this disturbance pivot in. We watch the next one line up as we work our way through midweek. We may get you a break, California, starting on Friday, and it may be for several days. So more on that, obviously, as we go on during the week. But let's talk about the rain and the mountain snow in through here. A lot of ski resorts in Oregon, Washington, over the interior, doing great.
