Well, joining me now is Eric Lucero, who is a Republican state senator from Minnesota. Senator, I want to get your reaction to the developments here, this new attack where these women rammed an SUV full of Border Patrol agents. What say you, sir? Very shocking, very dangerous. And like you said, it is chaos. And I'm expecting that this coming weekend, as it is a Friday, as we go into the weekend here, tensions are going to continue to escalate by these agitators who seek nothing more than to disrupt the law-abiding, the professionals, law enforcement, of simply trying to enforce the law, do their job. And these, again, agitators, paid protesters, are here doing nothing helpful. They are simply interfering. And it's very dangerous, very unfortunate. And my advice to anybody who's in Minnesota, or specifically the Minneapolis area, stay away. Allow the professional law enforcement officers to do their job. Yeah, well said. I'm not sure that people are going to take that advice, though. I mean, based on what we have seen here, Senator, I want to show some video. And I want to set this up for you so you know exactly what you're looking at. So the agent who was actually hit by the van, the one who opened fire on this driver, Rene Goode, we now have his cell phone video. And I want us to watch this together, Senator. That's fine, dude. I'm not mad, big boy. Show your face. I'm not mad at you. It's OK. We don't change our plates every morning. Just so you know. It'll be the same plate when you come talk to us later. That's fine. U.S. citizen. You want to come at us? You want to come at us? I say go get yourself some lunch, big boy. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. I did not do it! Oh! **** Senator, it's pretty clear to me that this ICE agent was in fact hit by this SUV. How does this change the narrative? Is it going to change the narrative with the governor and the mayor and the local media? Well, we saw the governor and the mayor of Minneapolis earlier this week telling ICE agents to get the blank out of Minneapolis that the governor, Governor Walz, stating that the federal government is at war with Minnesota. Those are very, very hostile words, and their minds are made up. They do not care about the truth. In fact, the federal government is not at war with Minnesota or Minneapolis. In fact, it's Governor Walz and Mayor Frey who are at war with the truth. And this video, it clearly demonstrates what the truth is. But again, because Walz and Frey and these agitators are not interested in the facts or the truth, I don't believe it's going to change any minds. But for those who do support our law enforcement professionals, those who have not made up their mind and are waiting for the facts, this is a key piece of information that I think is pretty decisive. I want to play some audio here. This is from Mayor Jacob Frey. He says that Ms. Good did not injure the ICE agent with her car. Let's take a listen to that. Donald Trump said that Renee ran the ICE agent over. Don't take my word for it. Don't take their word for it. Watch the video from every single angle. I mean, the ICE agent walked away with a hip injury that he might as well have gotten from closing a refrigerator door with his hips. He was not injured. All right. We just saw the video here, Senator. How do you respond to what the mayor just said there? Well, he is deliberately convoluting reality. He lives in an alternative reality. The reality is that whether you are a federal law enforcement officer, a state law enforcement officer, a local law enforcement officer, when you have a weapon and a law enforcement officer believes or feels that they are threatened by that weapon, damage doesn't actually have to occur. It is the threat to life, the threat to great bodily harm or death that a law enforcement officer is authorized to use deadly force to prevent, again, great bodily harm or death for themselves or another. So, as you saw there in the clip, Mayor Frey is deliberately convoluting what the threshold is by which a law enforcement officer who feels threatened can and should justifiably use deadly force. Senator, real quick here, before we let you go, there have been a lot of calls from Republicans in Congress to have the governor and the mayor arrested, to have President Trump invoke the Insurrection Act. I'm really concerned. I think a lot of people are concerned about the rhetoric spewing out of the governor's mansion here. What do you think needs to happen? Well, that is 100%. I don't know all of the information that the federal government might be operating under. I'm sure there's a lot that has not yet been public. But if indeed, whether it be Governor Walz, whether it be Mayor Frey or any other elected official or a member of the public, they absolutely need to be arrested. They need to be held accountable. And this is lawlessness, as you were seeing. Governor Walz and Mayor Frey are overseeing lawlessness. They are perpetuating lawlessness. They're allowing it to happen. And it is endangering the great citizens, the law-abiding citizens of Minnesota and Minneapolis. And yes, I praise President Trump and our great law enforcement officers who are simply trying to uphold the law and keep us safe. Well, a very, very disturbing situation there. And certainly our hearts go out to Ms. Good's family. Our hearts go out to those ICE agents as well that are putting their lives on the line for us every single day.
