Private sector employment in the United States increased by 104,000, according to the latest data from ADP. This figure exceeded the estimated 64,000 and reversed a decline reported in the previous month. Gains were observed in both goods-producing and service sectors, with notable increases in leisure and hospitality, financial activities, and trade, transportation, and utilities. However, education and health services saw a decrease of 38,000 jobs, despite typically being a source of job growth.

Wage growth remained steady for those staying in their jobs, while job changers saw a 7% increase in pay. ADP's chief economist described the data as indicative of a healthy economy, with employers showing increased optimism about consumer resilience. The report notes that ADP's figures can differ from official government data, but over time, they tend to align closely with broader trends in the job market.

Steve this is all a precursor to the jobs report we get on Friday. What's the estimate for that right now? Do you know straight up at a hundred thousand? So, you know pretty decent number I think what there's a there's a tick up scene in the unemployment rate. So still pretty low I have to warn people that the last several months ADP has been off in a pretty big way about a 92,000 average absolute miss on ADP, but over the course of a year It's right in line. So they get there. How do they get there? Actually the BLS revises much more than ADP So I think it's hard to make a bet on Tomorrow's or Friday's number based on ADP, but over time I think the ADP does a fine job of telling us where the job market is that at least the private sector And that's you need a asterisk on that right now because as you know, the president has been reducing the federal Employment and so that's gonna show up in a way So we'll have to kind of write parse those numbers say what the private sector is doing and here's what the government sector is doing
