Well, on the way here, Pope Leo made a surprise appearance on the back of the plane and answered a couple of questions with the foreign press. One of them was about Gaza. He said the Vatican continues to be a mediating force there and is pushing for a solution that brings justice for everyone. But for now, he's focused on Lebanon, where Israel has been embroiled in conflict with the U.S.-designated terror organization Hezbollah, striking targets in the south of the country, but also right here in Beirut. A week ago today, Israel killed a top commander of the Iran-backed group here in the very city where Pope Leo has just arrived. And, Jerica, Israel has actually been talking about escalating those strikes, leaving people here in Beirut to worry that those strikes are only going to get worse as soon as Pope Leo goes back to the Vatican on Tuesday.
