Investigators said Lakhanwal drove across the country from his home in the state of Washington and shot two guardsmen with a powerful revolver, a .357 Magnum, before being wounded in an exchange of gunfire with other troops. The shootings may give Trump an opening to argue that even legal pathways like asylum pose security risks for Americans.
