Benalla is more than 100 kilometres to the west of Paulpunka, and that's where he allegedly shot and killed two police officers at the rural property on August 26. The force today said the search around Benalla forms a part of their planned operation. More than a month after the shooting, authorities still have had no confirmed sightings of Freeman, despite hundreds of tip-offs from the public and a $1 million reward for information leading to his arrest. That award is the biggest of its kind in Victorian history.
