Law enforcement agencies, including Cincinnati police and the U.S. Secret Service, are investigating at Vice President JD Vance's Cincinnati home early Monday morning.

Authorities responded to a possible break-in or suspicious person at the Cincinnati home of Vice President J.D. Vance. Cincinnati police confirmed that one person was taken into custody following the incident, which occurred after midnight.

Secret Service agents were seen inspecting the property, where broken glass was observed in the windows. The investigation has since been turned over to the Secret Service, and Vice President Vance was not in town at the time of the incident.

Well, breaking right now, there's a police investigation happening at the local home of Vice President J. D. Vance. Yeah, we want to get right out to W. C. P. O. Nine News reporter Ali Kramer live from East Walnut Hills this morning. Ali, this is something we all woke up to. What have you learned in the last couple of hours? And Kristen, even in just the last few minutes, I listened to 911 dispatch between Secret Service and those dispatchers saying that they were investigating what was a possible break in or maybe a suspicious person. Cincinnati police tell us one person was taken into custody. But back out here live outside of J. D. Vance's home. These two white pillars, everything quiet here. There's always a minivan parked right here blocking the entrance to his driveway. As many of you know, his home sits on William Howard Taft just off of Columbia Parkway. So a busy thoroughfare, but it is pitch black out here. No one walking around or investigating. But we did see that increased police presence and Secret Service presence since about midnight here. Our cameras actually captured Secret Service agents looking around the home. And what looks like in this video, you see broken glass in the windows. We know Vice President Vance was in town in recent days because when he's here, the city of Cincinnati sets up major barricades and street closures that block any routine traffic from getting near his house. Those closures were expected to be in place from December 29th to January 4th, which was yesterday. They have since been lifted, telling us that really, essentially, Vice President Vance is no longer in town. Now, Cincinnati police told us that they are now turning over the investigation to Secret Service a little bit before five o'clock. I saw two Secret Service agents walk into the home as if they're sort of doing a shift change of sorts. But again, all still up in the air, working to get more information. Guys, as soon as we hear that, we'll check back in in just about 30 minutes.
