Bosco Josik, aged 44, was fatally shot once in the chest inside his Merrylands apartment in New South Wales. He was discovered by a woman he lived with, and paramedics were unable to save him. Neighbours described Josik as a nice man with no significant criminal history, and police confirmed he had no known links to organised crime or drugs. Authorities believe the attack was targeted but not gang-related, and are currently investigating Josik's background and associates to identify the perpetrator. The investigation remains in its early stages, with police searching for a male suspect and appealing for information.

A brutal attack inside the walls of a Maryland's apartment block that struck down Bosco Josik in one hit. He was shot to the chest. It was only a single shot. The 44-year-old was found by a woman he lives with at around 6.40 this morning. Paramedics were called but it was too late to save him and the gunman had gone. Yeah, we didn't see no one leave the place. We just heard yelling and then we didn't see anything after it. You're not expecting that. Not at all. I expect fights and the police to come because they've come but not something like this. Described by neighbours as a nice man, Bosco did not have an extensive criminal history. He's known to police but only for a minor matter and nothing with obvious links to organised crime or drug-related matters. I was his best man for his wedding a long time ago. I've been seeing him for multiple years now. I guess he had the wrong group of friends, I guess. He had a hard life. While there's no evidence to suggest that the shooting was gang-related, police believe if this was no random attack, they're now delving into the 44-year-old's history and associates as they try to find his killer. At this stage we have no firm indications who we're looking for, suffice to say a male. An investigation still in its early stages with plenty of questions for police. Hannah Stewart, 10 News.
