Victoria Police have arrested two men and a woman they suspect of a crime spree occurring over several months and spanning several Melbourne suburbs.

Police in Melbourne have arrested two men and a woman suspected of involvement in a series of incidents across at least eight suburbs over several months. The arrests occurred in Moonee Ponds after police identified a distinctive grey Mercedes with cloned number plates, allegedly used by the suspects. 

During the attempted arrest, the suspects tried to escape by ramming police vehicles and fleeing on foot, resulting in minor injuries to a police officer. The trio, aged 36, 48, and 33, are now in custody and being interviewed as part of a wider investigation into the alleged crime spree.

A trio allegedly behind a multi-month crime spree in Melbourne have been arrested in dramatic fashion. Let's go to Rory Campbell now and Rory, a police officer was injured in the arrest. Ursula, they suffered some minor injuries as these crooks tried a couple of different ways to escape the clutches of police. Two men and a woman were in a distinctive grey Mercedes with a yellow stripe which police say had cloned number plates. Police officers tried to box the car in when they spotted it in the suburb of Moonee Ponds just after midday today. Police say the Mercedes rammed two police cars in reverse before the trio got out and tried to get away on foot. They were tracked down and arrested quite quickly. The three people are now being interviewed in relation to a much broader investigation. They're suspected of being involved in a string of incidents in at least eight different suburbs over the last couple of months. Those suburbs are scattered right across Melbourne, Ursula. A 36-year-old man, a 48-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman now in police custody after putting up a bit of a fight.

On the same day a ground offensive was launched in Gaza City, a United Nations Commission of Inquiry report concluded Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, a finding emphatically denied by Israeli officials.
