A series of storm systems is moving across the western United States, following a consistent northwest pattern. The first system has already crossed Montana and Wyoming, bringing drier conditions, while a second, more robust storm is expected to impact the region through midweek, with additional systems forecasted later in the week.

Temperatures ahead of the storms range from the 50s in Seattle and Portland to the 80s in Phoenix, with colder temperatures in higher elevations. Heavy rain is expected in northern California and Oregon, with snow levels initially high but forecast to drop as the week progresses. Alaska is also experiencing significant snowfall, with more precipitation expected as the next round of storms arrives.

and it's the same pattern in the northwest, because that's where they're all coming from. It's true, and Anna, really, there are two in view just in this shot here. The Monday storm system, if you were to label them such, would have, again, that's what we're dealing with moving through parts of Montana and Wyoming. Not as much moisture now. It's kind of crossed the continental dividers on the drier side, but here comes number two, and this is a pretty robust round that's gonna impact us through Wednesday, but there's even more behind this that I'll soon show you coming in for later this week. Temperatures in advance of the rain in the 50s for most of us up into Seattle and Portland, mid-50s there, 60 on the nose into Medford, red in California, 57. We may see a thunderstorm tomorrow in San Francisco, 65 degrees there right now, but 88 down into Phoenix, and we're a little nippier into the interior, the light blues 30s, darker blues 20s, in the highest of elevations. Future radar and clouds shows that this next surge tonight through Wednesday will bring us a pretty good widespread round of rain. Some of the heaviest tonight will be falling in northern California up into parts of Oregon. By morning, moving into the interior, the foothills of the Sierra seeing some very heavy rain, and it's gonna be a dreary day in Seattle and Portland with some windswept rain showers off and on, but there's a mini break between this storm and the Thursday round. There it was, not much of a break really. If anything, we'll just have some off and on showers. There's the separation between departing storm and the arriving storm. Then on Thursday afternoon and evening, it begins to get colder, and the snow levels will have been pretty high, so rain for most of the lower passes, even the middle passes out there, with wind and some rain. Snow levels up about 8,000 feet right now, but later this week, we're gonna see snow levels drop. So the current storm system will bring us two to four inches of rain into Eureka, one to two inches of rain in Eugene and Medford, Oregon. Still dreary out there Wednesday, but there's more coming behind this. So we look west, there's Gamble, Alaska, near sea level. Lots of snow falling these days out that way, and we got more coming, so we're gonna see a new round of this on Thursday with that rain and snow as we showed you with Future Radar.
