One person was taken to the hospital with what officials are calling life-threatening injuries after a crash involving a school bus in Madisonville. Police say the person injured was involved in a pursuit during the crash.

A car driven by a 22-year-old was involved in a crash with a school bus in Cincinnati after the vehicle failed to stop for Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies. The incident began when police attempted to run the car's license plate and the driver refused to pull over, leading to a pursuit that ended when the car collided with the rear of a Forest Hills school bus. 

The crash resulted in the car's driver being hospitalized in critical condition, while the bus, which was carrying a student, a staff member, and a driver on an extracurricular trip, reported no injuries. The Cincinnati Police Department is investigating the crash, and the Sheriff's Office is reviewing the pursuit.

Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies tried to stop the car. 481 is the vehicle refusing to stop. The car came off the interstate and around Red Bank Expressway towards Duck Creek Road and slammed into the back of a Forest Hills school bus with a student, staff member, and the driver inside. No one in the bus was hurt. As for the car's 22-year-old driver? Probably has to be cut out. He was left in critical condition. I'm just like, oh dear, what's going on? Daniel Singleton watched as fire crews, cruisers, and more flew by him to shut down traffic and pull the driver from the car. You see a school bus get hit. What's your initial thought? Like, oh my gosh, I hope it's not my kids or anybody I know. And I'm just like, I ran over a little bit, but I didn't see nobody and a police officer's trying to push everybody back a little bit. A Forest Hills school's representative tells me the bus was out of district on an extracurricular trip. Trucks pulled the car from under the bus and soon after, both were hauled away. Cincinnati Police will investigate the crash. The Sheriff's Office will investigate the pursuit. Sean DeLancey, WCPO 9 News.
