A 38-year-old man has died and several others have been hospitalised in a tragic drowning incident at a sandbank at Moore River, north of Perth.

A group of seven people, including four children and three adults, encountered difficulties while walking along a sandbank in Moore River, north of Perth. Bystanders pulled the group from the water and administered first aid, but a 38-year-old man was found unresponsive and could not be revived. 

Four children and two adults received treatment from paramedics, with one woman taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and a man transported to Joondalup Health Campus. Witnesses described the distressing scene as first aid was performed for around 25 minutes before ambulances arrived. Authorities have confirmed that all seven individuals were known to each other, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

We just sort of sat with the three others who were struggling to breathe. They were very much in shock, they weren't really talking. It just makes you realise how easy things can go from OK to really bad. It's believed all seven people were known to each other and a report will now be prepared for the coroner.
