The National Hurricane Center is continuing to watch a tropical wave, which they are calling 95L, in the Eastern Atlantic. Conditions are expected to become more favorable for development later this week once it nears the Leeward Islands, and it will likely become our next name system, Jerry.

Meteorologists are closely watching invest 95L in the Atlantic Basin as the probability of tropical development increases. Current forecasts indicate a 70% chance of further development within the next week, and a 40% chance in the next two days.

Favorable conditions such as warm ocean temperatures and low wind shear are present in the region, with little Saharan dust to inhibit storm formation. These factors suggest that the Atlantic, which has been relatively quiet, could soon see increased tropical activity.
