And just like that for the first time ever, the San Diego Wave retired the number 13 jersey of soccer icon Alex Morgan in front of a packed crowd at Snapdragon Stadium. It's hard to put into words because I really never expected something like this to even be possible. She's the first player in club history to receive this honor and one of only three NWSL players to do so. You know I've been a part of the NWSL since the inaugural season and I have advocated and fought for the NWSL. I've played every season in that the NWSL has had. I'm just a fierce ally of the NWSL and so to have my jersey retired and here in San Diego at home it means everything. Morgan played for the Wave from July 2021 to September 2024. She remains the club's all-time leading scorer and now a mother of two and investor for the future of the club. This is only the fourth year of existence so myself as an investor my hope is for this to continue growing and evolving. We were there for her final game as Morgan took the pitch for the last time ever. The number 13 an inspiration for many in the soccer world especially for young fans following in her footsteps.
