are going to bring in now Carrie Pickett. She is the White House correspondent at the Washington Times and former New York Congressman Peter King. Great to be with you both this morning. Carrie, I want to start with you. Your reaction to John's report that we just saw as we wait for another video from Nick Shirley. I mean, how much worse could it get? Oh, it can get plenty of worse because you have to keep in mind, Chrissy, a lot of this pretty much started with Doge when you had Donald Trump and Elon Musk's group really go into a lot of the fraud and waste of the federal government, as well as with Donald Trump trying to get a lot of the state spending under control. And when a lot of the states said, no, we're going to do whatever we want. And he's like, well, I'm going to start pulling back on the funding. They said, well, we're going to hit back with these lawsuits. Then it was like, well, guess what? We're going to start looking into some of your habits. And a lot of the older reporting back in Minnesota began sort of looking into the abuses at the time. And those abuses were ignored. You had a lot of whistleblowers out there trying to say, hey, this is going on. And they were retaliated against. What Nick Shirley did was he said, hey, what's going on with some of this older reporting that was ignored? And I'm going to start amplifying it. I'm going to start putting these old reports out there and start helping these guys. And it really started to look like the old reports started coming out. So I think that all of a sudden, then you had someone like Tim Walz who said this is a conspiracy theorist here and so on and so forth. He's like, oh, well, it looks like I'm not going to start running for re-election. And he better be careful because there could be a time when maybe resignations could start being put out there into the ether. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, Minnesota, it's just blowing up. We continue to see those widespread protests against law enforcement there. And people continue to block agents and follow their convoys. We have state officials that are now suing the federal government, Congressman King. Why do you make it a situation there? It's a form of insanity and it's total defiance of the law. The fact is, ICE has every right to be operating there, operating lawfully. And not only that, it's serving a real public purpose. But that's not for the local officials to decide. This is a federal government issue. The issue's been handled properly by the federal government. And to me, they talk about insurrection. What you're seeing is an insurrection here by local officials in Minnesota, local and state officials, who somehow think that they are exempt from the laws that apply to everybody else. So no, I think ICE has to continue doing what they're doing. Maybe they can modify it here or there, but the fact is, overall, they're doing the right thing. And why do you want to defend the rights of criminals, perverts, to be allowed here in the country illegally is beyond me. Yeah, it really is mind-blowing for sure. In Minnesota, the Democrats, as mentioned, are suing the Trump administration to stop ICE operations. And apparently, Illinois Dems, they're also jumping on that lawsuit. President Trump defended the work of ICE on True Social. He said this, every place we go, crime comes down in Chicago. Despite a weak and incompetent governor and mayor fighting us all the way, a big improvement was made. He went on to say, if you're not great people of Minnesota, the day of reckoning and retribution is coming. Carrie, your thoughts on that? What do you think the president means? Hey, you know what? I'm not surprised that President Trump said that. And he already talked about the sanctuary cities, who they said he's going to cut off their funding. That's going to start at the beginning of February. What is very interesting right now is that you just had a number of lawmakers up on Capitol Hill, some of whom Congressman King there knows very, very well. They just put out articles of impeachment of Secretary Noem, which they know very well, it's not going anywhere. But it's mainly messaging coming up for the midterm elections. But ultimately, they simply need that messaging so they can say, hey, we're fighting for you. But it's something to keep in mind, because if the Democrats do take the House this year, you know, that is a situation that could be very ugly in 2027. So that is something to keep in mind. Yeah, absolutely. Before I wrap up, Congressman King, I want to go back to you. The president is ending, as you know, temporary protected status for thousands of Somalis amid the ongoing fraud investigation that we've seen in Minnesota. It's absolutely crazy there. Do you think that we'll see legal pushback like we've seen in so many other cases when it comes to immigration? I think there's an automatic pushback on anything President Trump does on immigration. Let me just say about the Somali community in Minneapolis. I actually worked with them when I was chairman of the Homeland Security Committee. And what I saw there, there was Islamists. You had imams who were cooperating with al-Shabaab. You had the government looking the other way. So you had some hardworking Somalis who were being terrorized by their own community. So I don't want to lump the entire Somali community, but there's definitely a strong criminal pro-Islamist element within it, and the leadership has totally failed them. So I hope that the status is taken away. I understand that there are some very good Somalis who all try to work within the law, and they are being harassed and intimidated. In fact, there were cases there where you had young men being sent from Minneapolis to Somalia to fight for al-Shabaab. And when they were killed over there, at least one in particular was killed. The father of that young man was warned by the local Muslim officials not to cooperate with the FBI, not to cooperate with the police. So it's really like a community within a community. Some very hardworking people, and others are very terrible, terrible, dangerous leaders. Yeah, absolutely. Thank you for bringing those points up. Really, really important to know.
