Egyptian officials stated their commitment to supporting Sudan's territorial integrity and rejected the recognition of any parallel entities or militias.

The United Nations envoy highlighted the effectiveness of ongoing diplomatic efforts, noting this was the fifth such meeting in a year and a half. The conflict between Sudanese armed forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, ongoing since April 2023, has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and the displacement of millions.

As peace talks resumed in Cairo on Wednesday, participants called again for a humanitarian truce in Sudan. They also stressed that they're working to ensure the country remains intact. Egypt will not stand idly by and will not hesitate to take the necessary measures to maintain Sudan, its unity and its territorial integrity. We also reiterate that there's absolutely no room for recognising parallel entities or any militia. Under no circumstances can we equate Sudanese state institutions headed by the Sudanese National Army with any other militia. The United Nations envoy said that these latest talks show that diplomacy remains a viable path towards peace. This consultative meeting is considered one of the achievements of diplomacy now we have completed the fifth meeting in the time period of a year and a half. And if this indicates something, it's that everyone acknowledges the effectiveness and success of this mechanism that will help us all achieve a lot in the near future. Sudanese armed forces have been fighting the paramilitary rapid support forces since April 2023. Tens of thousands have been killed and millions displaced.
