Hours after fronting media with U.S. president Donald Trump to announce a 20-point plan to end the conflict in Gaza, Benjamin Netanyahu said the Israeli military will remain in the region.

The UN and Red Crescent run the initial recovery phase overseen by a Board of Peace chaired by Donald Trump and including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Gaza is then rebuilt and Palestine set on a pathway to statehood. We commend the focus which is there in the plan for Palestinian self-determination and statehood. But Israeli newspapers have a different take this headline reading there will be no Palestinian state and in a video posted to Telegram tonight Israel's PM says his military will remain in most of Gaza. The whole world including the Arab and Muslim world is pressuring Hamas to accept the conditions we set together with President Trump to release all the hostages both the living and the fallen while the IDF remains in most of the Gaza Strip. Who would have believed this? It's being reported tonight Israel's military is advancing in the northeast of Gaza City as the death toll again rises. For those displaced from their homes hope is still a long way off. This plan falls in Trump and Israel's favor. They have interests in Gaza. They want to end Gaza in any way possible.
