After Humberto and Imelda, the tropics have not quieted down. We are continuing to monitor two areas in the Atlantic for tropical development. As of the most recent update from the National Hurricane Center, the odds have increased to a medium chance of development for a tropical wave coming off the coast of Africa.

The National Hurricane Center is tracking two areas of interest during the ongoing tropical season, which continues until the end of November. One area, located near the Bahamas, could influence weather in Florida but is not expected to become a named system due to unfavorable conditions such as wind shear and proximity to land.

Meanwhile, a second area in the Atlantic has seen its chances of development increase to 40% over the next week. This system is situated in the main development region and could impact nearby islands as it progresses. Meteorologists are closely monitoring both areas for further changes.

After all, it is still a tropical season, goes all the way to November 30th. So we have two more full months of our tropical season and we have activity, two areas to watch. One that is down towards the Bahamas that could potentially impact us here in Florida and another in the Atlantic, which has a really a better chance of developing. There is low pressure, a little wave here at the surface. And really we're not expecting a lot to go on. There is a lot of shear, it is moving towards land. And so we don't expect this to be our next name system, but it could enhance what's happening in Florida. And it's also gonna help with the pressure gating because there was an old boundary here and that's what we look for this time of year, is old boundaries. And that old boundary can spin up a low pressure in a tropical entity. So that is what's going on right now. Otherwise, we now have 40% chance of development here over the next seven days with what's going on in the Atlantic. And as I show you the Euro, you'll see that spin start to kick up. There it is for you. It goes across the Atlantic. This is the main development region and impacting the islands as we head into next Friday. So a week from now.
