After analyzing nearly 530 beaches across the United States, the tide and weather forecasting platform Tideschart has ranked the five most dangerous beaches. So, before you take an ocean swim this summer, watch this video to see which destinations are considered the riskiest and why.

Tideschart, a tide and weather forecasting platform, has ranked the five most dangerous beaches in the United States after analyzing nearly 530 locations. The ranking considered factors such as the number of hurricanes, surf zone deaths, and shark attacks. 

Florida dominates the list, with Indie Atlantic Boardwalk, Miami Beach, and Daytona Beach all cited for high numbers of surf zone deaths and shark attacks. Laguna Beach and Yosemite Beach also feature, with Yosemite Beach recording more than double the shark attacks of the other beaches combined, making it the most dangerous. The findings serve as a warning for swimmers and surfers to be cautious at these destinations.

Most dangerous beaches in the U.S.

126 hurricanes have hit all of the top 5 most dangerous beaches in the U.S., but the number one spot had a staggering amount of shark attacks. Number 5 is on Florida's Space Coast. Surfers love catching 8-foot waves at Indie Atlantic Boardwalk, but that's what also makes it dangerous, with 9 surf zone deaths there. Three hours south, Miami Beach takes the number 4 spot, with 35 surf zone deaths and 17 shark attacks. Over on Florida's Atlantic Coast, 67 shark attacks and nearly 30 deaths put Daytona Beach at number 3. And while Laguna Beach is shielded from the crowds of Panama City Beach, 39 deaths landed it in the second spot. And Yosemite Beach had more than double the shark attacks of the other four beaches combined, making it the number one most dangerous beach.
