A Detroit entrepreneur, Brandon Cooper, has developed an AI concept called AFFET that allows users to create digital clones of themselves. The platform, currently in beta testing, enables users to generate up to ten digital versions for tasks such as online communication and social media engagement. High-profile individuals, including Mark Cuban and Baron Davis, are among the early adopters.

AFFET is designed to help users save time and increase productivity by managing multiple online interactions at once. The system incorporates biometric scanning and identity verification to address concerns about deepfakes and trust. Initially focused on written communication, AFFET plans to expand to include voice and other interactive features. Users are encouraged to invest time in training their digital clones to improve their effectiveness.

A Detroit man has been developing a concept to help people clone themselves. Fox's Josh Landon takes a closer look. The name AFFET comes from an insect that is known to clone itself. Brandon Cooper took that particular fact and started his company after working several years as a senior technology advisor. They were overworking me and I was like man I just wish I could clone myself on the computer and I was like ah I got an idea. Cooper tells me AFFET is in beta testing with thousands of people already signed up including Mark Cuban and Baron Davis. The plan is to roll out options providing up to 10 clones created by you. So the first thing that you want to do when you're creating your clone is you want to enter your name and then you also want to upload your avatar picture of yourself and then you want to specify what you use it for. The big promise here saving time boosting productivity by being in many places online at once. We're going to have the data to see which industries are going to have the highest uptick and the most volume but we're more concerned about creating that engine for people to decide how they want to use them close for their sale. Although it appears to be a simple approach there are questions about trust in the world of deep fakes. Cooper says AFFET will be using a biometric scanner and other forms of identity verification. Why is it important to have something like this? Because where the job market is right now and people don't really realize it yet they may think that their job is safe but anything that a person can do AI can do much better. We're saying hey let's pump the brakes right let's create a universal system. Another important note your clones only work well if you invest the proper time to teach them. The more that you spend nurturing it like you know basically catering to your digital self the smarter it becomes. When AFFET rolls out it will be written communication but Cooper says the next step will include voice and other features. Yeah let's say you wanted to clone yourself into a digital form and have it post on social media and talk to people. Instead of you having to record the video you would basically tell it what you wanted to say and it would take your image and create a 3D version of you and talk on your behalf and post.
