Half a dozen masked men armed with knives have gatecrashed a child's sleepover on the NSW Central Coast. No one was injured but police are hunting the group caught breaking in by a doorbell camera.

A group of six masked and hooded men broke into a home in North Avoca, New South Wales, while the residents, including children and guests, were inside. The intruders entered the property early in the morning, targeting vehicles and valuables, and left with car keys, a purse, and a handbag, but did not steal any cars. 

Police conducted a forensic examination at the scene and are investigating the incident, which has raised concerns among local residents. Authorities are reminding the community to keep doors locked and remain vigilant to prevent further incidents.

So this is where they came in, I mean knives blazing, big ones here, just straight in like that and like they didn't have a care in the world. The brazen 5am intrusion interrupting a children's sleepover upstairs. It's my wife and I, my three children ages 12 to 17, my daughter had another 12 year old friend over, six other boys were here as well and I had friends here you know having some drinks and playing some pool and you know so there's a lot of people here. The casual but stealthy thieves setting their sights on four cars parked in and around the driveway. An electric scooter positioned outside for the taking before doubling back for more. A checklist before bed, you know lights off, doors locked, dogs downstairs, you know this is the one night that we were literally you know napping on the job. But the thieves didn't leave the way they entered, it's believed they escaped through the back door taking off with three sets of car keys, a purse and a handbag but no cars. Things could be replaced, people can't. A light fingerprint dusting, all that remains of the hour long forensic examination. They've had a few reports, you know they're on the board, they know you know of not exactly who I'm sure, they're not stupid put it this way. The message to all residents, lock your doors. Someone's going to get hurt and something needs to be done like very very soon. I want to make sure that we can help stop something before it happens again. Olivia Blunden, 10 News.
