Police have not yet identified the victim and did not recover a firearm at the scene. Several witnesses were interviewed, providing authorities with a general description of the suspect. ABC 10 news reporter Danny Miskell has been in the scene all morning joins us now with the latest on the investigation. Danny. Good morning, Jared. Yes, the police have actually cleared out and now we have the sun up. So I kind of want to give you a closer look at what this crime scene has been looking like this morning. So we're over here by the ballpark that's next to the rec center and you can see this is where police were just searching. We were showing you those shots earlier. This is that area where they were searching and still collecting evidence. But let's go ahead and take you back to what it looks like here earlier this morning. San Diego Police Department's Western Division is working this case. A sergeant that I spoke with says that at this point they have not identified who the man is yet that they found who was suffering from those gunshot wounds. But they did tell me that that man was taken to a local hospital later and died about an hour after they found him. Police did not recover the gun here at the sea, but there were several witnesses nearby who they interviewed. So now they have a general description of the suspect that they're looking for and back out here live. You're looking at the ballpark next to the rec center where this homicide happened. Police tell me that once they have identified the man who was shot and killed here, they'll be able to figure out who the person was that could have pulled the trigger live in Linda Vista, Danny Miskell, abc 10 news.
