Military leaders have publicly expressed their support for demonstrators, who have been protesting for three weeks against the presidential regime, citing issues such as government service failures, corruption, and nepotism.

A statement from President Angela Trujillo's office confirmed that an illegal attempt to seize power was underway. The protests, initially led by Gen Z youth, have grown in size and intensity, with participants vowing to continue their demonstrations until their demands are met.

We have been betrayed, we have been lied to, but today is a new beginning. This is the first day of our victory after a three-week struggle. It's not over yet, but we will not give up. We will stay here because this is the place of our victory. This is the moment. The protests, which began on September 25, were ignited by Gen Z youth demonstrating against government service failures, corruption and nepotism.
