CBS News Senior Foreign Correspondent Elizabeth Palmer is still on the case and joins us from outside the museum now. Liz, you've got viewers comparing this to their favorite heist movies. You're waiting to see George Clooney walking around, perhaps, in a stunning moment. But yesterday you explained that this heist was so fast, the belief is this was professional. So how likely is it that cops will ever get these jewels back? We've talked to a few people who know the police world well. They say they think they will catch the thieves. After all, there was quite a lot of evidence left behind. The ladder, a blowtorch, a walkie-talkie, I think a motorcycle helmet also, so there'll be DNA, there'll be fingerprints. And as one crime expert said, we know them all, they're organized criminals. It's probably not likely that they will get the jewels back. And what's emerging here is that many people over the past couple of decades have been pointing out that the Louvre was inadequately protected. There's a fight because the Louvre itself is an object of art, and there's a lot of resistance to putting modern technology inside because it changes the look, it takes away some of the charm. But the result is that even the Minister of Justice had to admit we've failed. He said, look, this glass just wasn't robust enough. The thieves were able to cut right through it. And there is also a question of inadequate guards and personnel. Let's have a listen to Alain Bauer, who is a criminologist, professor of criminology here in Paris, and also incidentally consults for the NYPD. Even the unions in June made a strike to say, hey, by the way, we need 200 more people because we don't have enough guards. Security is not adapted. We have issues with elevators. We have issue with water leaks. Nobody listen until something dramatic happens. And then we shut down the bound gate after the horse escaped, as usual. That's right. And this has been a huge wake-up call. I mean, things probably are going to get better fast, but of course, for these priceless crown jewels, it's too late. Yeah, meanwhile, tourists wait to get back inside and see the rest of the art. Elizabeth Palmer, thanks so much.
