The film's cast, including 8-year-old Maya Keloha who plays Lilo, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response and discussed the impact the film has had on their lives. 

The actresses celebrated with fans at Comic-Con in San Diego and promoted the film's upcoming streaming release. Disney has announced that a sequel is in development following the film's strong performance. The original 'Lilo & Stitch' film, released in 2002, has since grown into a popular franchise with multiple adaptations.

The film made more than 1 billion dollars worldwide, becoming the second highest grossing movie of the year so far. This achievement also changed the lives of the film's stars. I think that it's been a surreal experience and it's been a whirlwind and we're extremely grateful and it's been really cool to see how much the world has taken to it and how much impact Lilo and Stitch really has had as just this lifelong and timeless story and the fact that it's still successful is incredible and then but at the same time I get to go home, I get to celebrate it with the family and the community and it's and I get to go to the beach and have fun all over again and I'm just the same. The three actresses celebrated the success of Lilo and Stitch with fans at Comic-Con in San Diego last week. They also promoted the film's upcoming streaming debut for rental and video-on-demand. The journey has been especially unique for 8-year-old Maya Keloha, who plays Lilo. Yeah, because I can really see a difference. If I had a life-change boy right now, there would be at least like five things in it. One, being recognized in stores like 5,000 times. Two, cannot eat Doritos or anything else without getting my mouth to be clean right after. Lilo and Stitch tells the story of an orphaned Hawaiian girl who develops a strong bond with a strange little creature. The film's lead actresses have described it as a note to Hawaiian culture. It is a great big Hawaiian rollercoaster ride that we're all just riding, but we're all still keeping it real and we're still just like loving our families and loving our friends and just being grateful and everything but, you know, it doesn't change you. Disney announced in June that a sequel was in development after the first live-action remake smashed the box office. The film's stars said they were ready to be part of the adventure once again. The original Lilo and Stitch movie was released in 2002 and quickly became a fan favorite. The success of the first installment paved the way for an entire franchise with several films and TV adaptations, but also books, comics and even video games.
