Other recent aviation incidents were also noted, including a rapid descent by a Southwest jet and an emergency landing by a Delta flight due to engine fire.

With smoke billowing from American Airlines Flight 3023, passengers escaped using emergency slides onto the Denver Airport runway. Just moments after the Boeing 737 MAX was traveling down the runway at 146 miles per hour. Destination, Miami. Mark Circus was a passenger. When the plane almost took off, we heard a loud boom. American Airlines says a tire blew and the rapid deceleration caused a brake fire. All 179 aboard got out safely. One passenger had minor injuries. Now the FAA is investigating. On Friday, a Southwest jet was forced to make a rapid descent, the pilot fearing a midair collision with a smaller vintage fighter jet. That's not good. And earlier this month, an engine fire forced a Delta flight to make an emergency landing at LAX. This comes as the TSA is on pace to screen another record number of passengers this summer. It's averaging about 2.4 million travelers a day. What happens when there's a delay? We just have to take a big deep breath and kind of just play it by ear.
