During the hearing, Elhissri confirmed his identity and requested release while his case proceeds. He faces a total of 12 charges and was not required to enter pleas. ICC judges will decide on May 19th whether the evidence is sufficient to proceed to trial, marking the first ICC trial involving a Libyan suspect since the court began investigating Libya in 2011.
