On Monday, Germany's Lufthansa said it had suspended routes to Beirut, including services by group firms like Eurowings. Data from jet tracking app Flightradar shows other services being cancelled. That includes ones operated by Turkish Airlines and Ethiopian Air. Lebanon's own Middle East Airlines said disruption to its operations was due to insurance risks. Beirut only has one airport and it has been a frequent focus of conflict. The hub was targeted during the country's civil war and in previous fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.

News organizations including The New York Times, The Associated Press and Newsmax as well as ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and Fox News say they will not sign new press rules as laid out in a Defense Department document. This could mean the Trump administration will evict reporters from the Pentagon.
