Despite the recent weekend surge, Las Vegas tourism officials say this year has been noticeably slower overall, and local drivers are feeling the financial impact.

Rideshare and taxi drivers in Las Vegas are reporting a notable decrease in the number of rides they are providing, which they attribute to a downturn in tourism. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, there was a 12% decrease in visitors compared to the same period the previous year. 

Drivers say they are earning less, with some reporting their daily rides have been cut in half. While overall tourism is down, there has been an increase in visitors from Mexico. In response, local authorities are promoting discounts on resorts and restaurants to attract more visitors.
