The first major event in the updated facility will be CES 2026, which is expected to draw significant global attention and local business participation.

City leaders highlight the importance of conventions to Las Vegas's economy, noting that in 2024, the center hosted 1.1 million attendees and generated $2.9 billion in economic output. The renovation includes a modernized lobby, climate-controlled concourse, and state-of-the-art boardroom, with the goal of attracting more events and supporting local prosperity.

CES 2026 will be the first convention held in the newly renovated Legacy Campus of the Las Vegas Convention Center. And while CES brings in technology from all over the globe, some businesses are building theirs right here in Las Vegas. I'm building for the home team and putting Las Vegas on the map. Announcing for the first time, his AI-powered fitness ecosystem will be one of thousands of businesses and products showcased at CES 2026 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. I'm getting everything ready as it is, just so that I can show up and, you know, represent for, like, the fitness industry, the tech industry in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas local says conventions like CES help businesses like his go from locally known to household names. It shows the world that we're staying at the forefront of technology. Las Vegas city leaders say meetings and conventions are essential to Las Vegas's tourism infrastructure, and the city needs a world-class convention center experience that reflects the scale and ambition of the city. Leaders from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority joined Consumer Technology Association to finish a $600 million renovation of the LVCC Legacy Campus. Renovation started in May 2023 and finished in December 2025. A modernized grand lobby, climate-controlled concourse, a state-of-the-art boardroom. LVCC opened in 1959, and the number of conventions held there has grown throughout the years. So has the revenue brought into the valley. We're ensuring that the Las Vegas Convention Center continues to be the source of prosperity for our community for decades to come. In 2024, conventions and meetings at the LVCC welcomed 1.1 million attendees, supported more than 13,000 local jobs, and generated $2.9 billion in overall economic output. In 2025, CES alone brought in more than 142,000 people from around the world, resulting in an economic impact of more than $381 million. The new Las Vegas Convention Center will help attract more events, delegates, and economic activity for Clark County residents. This project reflects the responsible stewardship of this critical public asset carefully scheduled around major trade shows to minimize disruption while moving the destination forward. Which is why city leaders and local business owners like Torres say it's important the LVCC is able to support the growing need. With a full calendar ahead, city leaders say Las Vegas could reach post-pandemic record convention attendance. LVCC leaders say they're on track to host 48 conventions this year, bringing in more than 1.2 million visitors to the valley. Reporting at the Las Vegas Convention Center, I'm Shelley Ligon.
