Former U.S President Donald Trump has launched a verbal attack on the New York Attorney General who's prosecuting the case in the second day of his civil trial. The judge in the case later ordering him to delete a social media post that publicly maligned a key court staffer.

There's no requirement for Donald Trump to attend this civil trial in person, but the former president is determined to use the occasion to repeat his mantra that he's the victim of a political witch hunt. Before entering the courtroom, he angrily rebutted the suggestion that there was anything dubious about his financial affairs. The financial statements are very strong in terms of cash, liquidity and everything else. This case is a scam. There can't be fraud when you've told institutions to do their own work. Trump, who sat stony-faced through the proceedings, is accused of overestimating the value of his business empire when applying for loans and underestimating it when filing taxes. He's been focusing his anger on the judge, Arthur Engeron, whom he describes as deranged and New York's black attorney general, Letitia James, who he claims is a racist, a theme he warmed to during the lunch adjournment. She should probably be dismissed also because she's terrible and grossly incompetent. But at a minimum, she should start looking for the murderers and the criminals, the violent criminals all over New York, do something about all of the illegal migrants pouring into our city and state and not spend the next six months in a courthouse. While the former president was appearing in court in New York, the son of the current president was facing his own legal peril in the neighbouring state of Delaware. Hunter Biden is accused of owning a gun while using illegal drugs. As in the Trump case, his lawyers are also claiming political interference. They say a plea bargain agreement, which would have kept Hunter out of jail, was only withdrawn because of pressure from Trump-supporting Republicans. Hunter Biden will face a full trial at a date still to be determined. Donald Trump's civil case will last three months. He also faces four criminal trials next year.
