Despite these assurances, the prime minister acknowledged persistent challenges, particularly high youth unemployment. He outlined government efforts to reduce unemployment and promote the private sector, including initiatives in digital transformation and technology, aiming to provide more opportunities for Iraq's younger generation.

That's despite major concerns about the pace of reform under his government and widespread corruption. Here's more from our exclusive conversation in Baghdad. The elections for the next parliament is one of the benchmarks in the history of the country. They confirm the path of the democratic system that the Iraqi people have adhered to. It is a peaceful transfer of power. The elections take place on their constitutional time, and the government has fulfilled all requirements and prepared the appropriate atmosphere for political forces, candidates and citizens to participate in them. We, the reconstruction and development list, are also involved in these elections. We have a project based on achievements on the ground. We have achieved a significant amount of services and economic reforms and have enhanced clear stability in Iraq. We have a project based on ground level. These are all tangible results and are a relief for citizens who feel for the first time that the country's circumstances are completely different from what they were decades ago. Hence, this enables us to go complete this project, which will be completely different in the next phase as it includes robust development and economic reforms. In my view, there is optimism that the turnout will be high, because for the first time since 2003, the Iraqi people have a feeling of optimism and hope for a better future, which will of course enhance their participation, presence and help them make the right choice in these elections. But with youth unemployment among the highest in the region, Iraq's next generation says that reform cannot wait. I asked the Prime Minister how he plans to deliver opportunity and whether the private sector can finally play a real role. The Iraqi society is a youthful society. This places responsibility on the state to find solutions to the problems of the youth, the most important of which is creating job opportunities. This government began by putting the issue of combating unemployment among the five priorities of the government's program. We have achieved a decrease of more than 2 percent according to official estimates. We are moving in multiple directions, the most important for us being to encourage the private sector to welcome more job seekers. And this is actually taking place in reality. Young people have a significant role in digital transformation and modern technology industries. We begin communications with fundamental steps as we have established a National Center for Digital Transformation and a Center for Cybersecurity. We have a Higher Committee for Artificial Intelligence specialized in preparing a strategy in these domains, which we believe will absorb a large percentage of youth.
