The death toll from the protests has exceeded 2,500, with activists warning that the number is likely to rise further.

Activists also report that Starlink satellite internet service is now available for free, allowing more footage to be shared despite a government internet shutdown. Meanwhile, regional tensions remain high, with U.S. President Donald Trump warning of possible military action against Iran and an advised evacuation issued for Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Iran held a mass funeral today for some 100 security officials and others killed in the crackdown on protests in the country. Now this came with a crowd of tens of thousands who gathered outside of Tehran University. These caskets were covered in red and white roses and people in the crowd held aloft pictures of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. But this was a pro-government demonstration and it came as the death toll in the protests rose to over 2,500 people killed, the vast majority of them demonstrators. Activists warn that this death toll is likely to rise even further. And meanwhile we're getting more information come out of Iran because as of now activists there say that Starlink service, that satellite internet service, is now free so they're able to transmit more videos and photos out when the government has entirely shut down the internet since last week. All this comes as tensions remain high, U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that he could strike Iran over it killing peaceful protesters. And today we heard that there is a somewhat advised evacuation of Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, that's the air base that the Iranians struck back in June during the 12-day war between Israel and Iran that saw the United States bomb Iranian nuclear sites. Now the U.S. military isn't really saying this is a mandatory evacuation but we did hear from an Iranian official who did bring up that June attack so it signals just how serious everyone in the region is taking the protests, their aftermath, and Trump's threat to potentially strike Iran.
