Key figures from the previous government, including Gustavo Cabello and Jorge Rodríguez, remain present, contributing to ongoing public unease.

Let's go for you from New York, live to the Venezuelan capital now, Caracas. Correspondent Norris Argoto Soto is with me on the program. Norris, it's really good to speak to you today. First of all, can you tell us what the latest is in terms of the government where you are in Venezuela? We had been hearing some reporting that Delsi Rodriguez would be sworn in today as the interim president of Venezuela. Can you confirm that? Hello. Yes, we've received the information that she is going to be sworn in. The hour is still to be determined, but this is something only foreseeable. She was going to try to continue with everything as normal to give reassurance to their bases, their political bases, and also the military bases. So yes, it's very likely that she is going to sworn in in the hours of the afternoon in Caracas, probably between 1pm, 3pm, and that's to be expected today. All right. Well, as we wait for that, Norris, give us a sense then of the atmosphere where you are in the Venezuelan capital. I mean, it must have just been the most extraordinary 48 hours for you, for people that you know. Give us a sense this Monday. Are people worried? Are they stockpiling food? What are you seeing? Well, the situation in Caracas for the past 48 hours have been dramatic, to say the least. Very, very weird, because Venezuelans never in our wildest dreams imagined that something like this could happen. I mean, there were rumors and talkings and conspiracy theories about what was the destiny for Venezuela, but never in our wildest dreams could we imagine that a U.S. military operation would take place here, and also for Nicolás Maduro to be sacked out of the country in the way that he was. Today, it's been shocking as well to see the picture of him arriving to the court in New York. But on the atmosphere side, what I can tell you is that people are still very afraid, because—and let's remember that even though Maduro is out, here in Venezuela, we still have some of the biggest repressors of the country, such as Gustavo Cabello. We have Delcy Rodríguez's brother, Jorge Rodríguez, and Delcy herself. So people still think or feel that Chavismo is still here. And also on the streets, there are, again, police forces raiding the streets and, you know, searching people in their vehicles, in their cars, searching car by car, searching their phones, looking for information. And that's totally illegal. Let's remember that you cannot invade or violate the privacy of people, and cell phones are part of that privacy. So, yes, it's only understandable that people are not celebrating, not on the streets. They are trying to buy goods, buy food, and come back home. And this is a Monday. This is a working day, and the streets are pretty much alone. Norris, I've got Soto correspondent in Caracas. Really good to speak to you today.
