Basic staples such as flour and lentils are being sold at rates far beyond the reach of most residents, worsening the hunger crisis.

Humanitarian organisations, including the United Nations, are unable to effectively track who receives aid, and recent efforts to increase deliveries have only slightly reduced prices. The UN has reported that up to 100,000 women and children are suffering from severe acute malnutrition, warning of a potential famine in the enclave.

A kilogram of flour cost as much as $60 in recent days, while a kilogram of lentils can go up to $35. This is way beyond the means of most Gaza residents, as more and more people are dying of hunger in the territory. We tell the government, or what used to be a government, that they need to find a solution. Those who are negotiating from Qatar and Saudi Arabia, find us a solution. We want this to end at any price. We're dying. We're sacrificing our children. We've sacrificed our women and our homes. For God's sake, Hamas, resolve this.
