A new Whitney Houston song is out, 13 years after her death, and English singer Callum Scott is responsible. She has that timeless voice where you could be listening to that song, you know, in any moment in time and it would still feel relevant, it would still feel special. It doesn't, you don't think, oh it sounds a bit dated now, it sounds, you know, incredible. And I think that was my mum's music taste is that I've kind of adopted that, you know, those timeless voices. The single is a duet between Scott and Houston, a balladic reinterpretation of the timeless I wanna dance with somebody. I wanna feel the heat with somebody. They're a good vocal match together. They both got a lot of emotionality and command also of their vocal instrument. And so I think that there's not a mismatch there at all. You know, you could think Whitney could overpower a lot of people and it wouldn't be, they wouldn't be up there singing with her. But for Callum, you know, he's confident and he had a vision about it and they both are meeting at an emotional level vocally. Houston's original vocal stems are used in the song. The undertaking couldn't be possible without the approval of a number of parties, specifically Pat Houston, Whitney's sister-in-law and the executor of her estate. It's really a beautiful feeling knowing that people are still loving her music. They're still listening to her music. And this particular song, 40 years ago, 40 years ago, this particular song was hot then and it's hot now. So why not keep producing, you know, but it's the right, it's the right connection. It's the right platform. And it certainly is the right artist to collab with her. The song was originally released in 1987.
