Super Typhoon Ragasa continues to ravage through south-east Asia, causing the closure of some of the world's busiest airports — including Hong Kong.

Super Typhoon Regasa, after impacting the Philippines, is now approaching Hong Kong with wind gusts reaching up to 285 kilometres per hour and heavy rainfall causing flash flooding. As a result, Hong Kong International Airport, one of the busiest in Asia, has been closed, leading to the cancellation of hundreds of flights, including multiple Qantas services from Australia.

Travelers have experienced significant disruptions, with some being rebooked on downgraded flights and others facing delays in reaching their destinations. Airlines are working to clear the backlog of passengers, but the travel disruption is expected to continue. Authorities in Hong Kong are taking precautions as forecasters warn the typhoon could pose life-threatening risks.
