The title, which has been highly anticipated for over six years and was the most wish-listed game on Steam, quickly became the third most played game on the platform, with over 535,000 concurrent players.

Silksong is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S, and is also a Day 1 Game Pass title. The game's launch highlights its significant popularity and the high level of anticipation from the gaming community.

Steam, for example, struggled to cope with the influx of customers, with Silksong's store page returning an error in the initial hours after launch. All this to remember for a $20 indie game on a school and work day. IGN staff had trouble trying to buy Silksong from the Nintendo eShop, the PlayStation Store, and Xbox. Silksong is a Day 1 Game Pass title, but subscribers reported trouble downloading it from the Xbox app and on Xbox consoles. Silksong is one of the most anticipated games of 2025. Over six years after its initial announcement and as the most wish-listed game on Steam, Silksong finally launched today, September 4th, across PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S. As of this taping, it is the third most played game on Steam with over 535,000 concurrence, and again, this is 10am on a Thursday here in LA. The only games more popular than Silksong at the moment are Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2. Hopefully things will settle down later today when I get off work and can download it on my Xbox Series X. Moving on, Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 has its long-awaited Patch 10 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. This is the big anniversary update that makes a number of significant changes and additions to Saber Interactive's explosive third-person action game. Patch 10 adds new game modes and maps, along with the Chaos Armor Pack, which is free, champion customization, new weapons, and more. The new PvP mode is Hellbrute Onslaught, which is playable on all maps. Two teams of Chaos Marines fight to control strategic areas, but also to take control of the Hellbrute. Controlling the Hellbrute grants the team a strong advantage, but killing it rewards significant amounts of points to your team. Stratagems is a new PvE game mode. Unlike classic operations, there are only two difficulty modes, Normal and Hard. What makes this new game mode different are the various battlefield conditions, which change every day and week and make each operation different. Meanwhile, there are new PvP and PvE maps, the new Power Axe weapon, the new Hero weapon variants, and the new Mutalith, Vortex, Beast, and Chaos Spawn enemy.
