Governor Lombardo stated he has been monitoring the situation closely and believes the incident will not impact his re-election campaign. He also confirmed that the state has insurance to cover the costs associated with the attack and expects cooperation from the insurance company. Details about the ongoing investigation, which involves federal authorities, were not disclosed.

Well, Abel, I think that's pretty much guaranteed. The only question is when I asked the governor today if that's something he's planning for a potential special session later this year. Take a look at that exchange. That bill didn't pass. Is there any discussion about bringing that back? Possibly in a special session later this year? Um, there hasn't been any discussion reference a special session and bringing him back there. But absolutely, um, an attempt will be made again in the next regular session. Now, it's not clear if that bill Assembly Bill 4 32 would have changed anything about the recent cyber attack, but it would have extended state monitoring to local governments and to school districts. I also asked the governor at the news conference about his own handling of the crisis. He says he's been monitoring the situation hourly since it started. He also said the political fallout wouldn't affect his re election campaign next year. I don't think it'll have any effect because I think people in Nevada have confidence in my ability to address a crisis and I think I've done it very well. The governor was also asked about the costs of the attack. He said the state has insurance to cover incidents just like this and that he expects the insurance company to cooperate in any recovery. Now able the governor said he couldn't share details about the investigation into the cyber attack, which includes federal authorities or who might be behind it.
