My personal view is that it would be better to be knocked down. I'd just hate it to be a ghoulish reminder or even exploited by reprehensible people in the future. We have to remember always what happened there. One month on from the Bondi terror attack, plans for a permanent memorial to honour the 15 victims are still being worked out. There have been many ideas, many beautiful ideas as well. Waverley Council will discuss what to do with the bridge in a special meeting tomorrow night. One of the considerations is that the ageing structure will need to be replaced anyway in the coming years. This is a very complex matter and will take time and will need broad consultation across the community. A community still coming to terms with December 14. The Premier today announcing two senior figures to lead recovery efforts. Multicultural New South Wales boss Joseph Leposta. My role will unashamedly be making sure that everyone in the community gets the support they need. And Michelle Goldman, CEO of the state's Jewish Board of Deputies. No one thinks this is going to be a short term fix. Safety and security is a paramount concern for the community which hasn't been resolved. Bondi is slowly returning to its best but it isn't the same. And there are still reminders like this bullet hole of the horror that unfolded here.
